B.Tech Surface Coating Technology is a four-year engineering program. The importance of surface coating is well-known. It can reduce friction between two objects, reducing the risk of mechanical damage. As an industry, surface coating plays a critical role in the supply chain. Many new technologies require the use of coatings to protect them from harmful effects on the environment.
The syllabus also includes proper Science of creating the pigments and how they would react to different surfaces, how the pigment or oil would react to oxygen. Graduates from the programme find employment in paint manufacturing companies. Continuing research in the field of surface engineering is vital to improving the quality of life for many people.

Career after B.Tech Surface Coating Technology
After completing a Bachelor of Technology course in Surface Coating Technology, students have two major options. In terms of career, one can either opt for a higher education degree or enrol on a master's degree. The other option is that students can look for employment in the industry and job profile of choice.
There are three major groups of courses in surface coating technology. The first two are focused on different elements of the field, while the third group is centred on the applications and the process of making the different types of coatings. After completing these courses, you can expect to find a job as a chemical technology technician, providing technical support to customers, recording experimental work, and presenting key technical data.
